    Fascinating photos of Recreation Forests

    When you were young, did you ever play outside and enjoy nature without noticing the time passing?

    Going to a recreational forest in Japan can take you back to those days –

    The cherry blossom in spring,

    The fresh greenery in summer,

    The changing leaves in autumn, and the snowfields in winter.

    Matsukawa Nature Recreation Forest


    There is a valley in Matsukawa that runs from Higashi Hachimantai to Matsukawa Onsen.
    This is a region where you can enjoy hiking and camping with a variety of natural landscapes.

    Shimokura Ski Area / Matsuo Mining Museum / Geothermal Dyeing Institute, Inc.

    Yakehashiri Recreation Forest

     

    It is a region where you can enjoy the scenery that can only be seen here,
    where the black rock formed by the lava flow is magnificently spread.

    Main spots: Lava flow observation road / Iwate mountain climbing gate / Yakebashiri lava flow

    Toshichi Outdoor Sports Area

     

    An area located near the summit of Hachimantai in the northern part of the Ou Mountains.
    It is possible to overlook the back of Iwate mountain range which continues from Iwate mountain
    from the observation deck in Mikaeri Toge.

    Main spots: Hachimantai Aspitelain / Hachimantai Rest House / Toshichi Onsen Saiunso

    Daikokumori Outdoor Sports Area

     

    The area around the former Hachimantai Ski Resort is now famous for backcountry skiing.

    Higashi Hachimantai Outdoor Sports Area


    The Hachimantai Resort Ski Resort, which extends from the middle of Mt. Iwate to the foothills,
    and the surrounding forest, are places where you can enjoy winter sports.

    Appi Maemoriyam Outdoor Sports Area

     

    Appi Kogen Ski Resort and its surroundings in Appi Plateau.
    Winter sports can be enjoyed on the vast ski area with a total run distance of 45.1 km.
